Kingdom Animalia & The Decorative Arts | 2013

This exhibition displays items of all types within the collection that have a connection to the animal kingdom. Some 98 items have been selected for this exhibition which has been well received by visitors to the gallery.

They include items such as Lord Leighton’s Perseus on Pegasus (1895), a celebrated Chelsea Porcelain Music Lesson Group (circa 1760), an Imperial Napoleonic Commode with Bees (circa 1800), an Edwin Landseer painting of a Border Terrier (1820), a James Pollard Menagerie painting depicting Kangaroos in a travelling circus (circa 1820) and a Jakob Bogdany Papillon Dog (circa 1715) a personal favourite of our late founder.
